The Synology DiskStation DS220+ is a compact and powerful 2-bay NAS enclosure, designed for home and small office users who need enhanced performance, data backup, multimedia streaming, and private cloud storage. It is a step up from entry-level models, providing greater flexibility and processing power for more demanding tasks. Powered by an Intel Celeron J4025 dual-core 2.0 GHz processor (burst up to 2.9 GHz), it delivers superior performance compared to budget NAS devices, making it suitable for tasks like real-time 4K video transcoding and heavier workloads.

The DS220+ comes with 2GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable up to 6GB, allowing for smooth multitasking and supporting a variety of Synology applications. It supports up to two 3.5″ or 2.5″ SATA drives for a maximum raw storage capacity of 32TB (16TB per drive), enabling users to store large amounts of data, including backups, media libraries, and file archives.
